A man has been given a hefty fine after he was caught carrying a knife with a 'grenade-shaped' handle.

Sam Knight, 24, of Walnut Mews in Amersham, has been ordered to pay an £833 fine after he admitted to carrying a black lock knife in Amersham on December 10, 2021.

The court heard how the lock knife had a handle that was in the shape of a grenade.

At a hearing a Wycombe Magistrates' Court on August 15, Knight also admitted to a charge of cannabis possession, committed on the same date as the knife offence.

After he pleaded guilty to the two charges, the magistrates fined Knight and told him to pay £180 in costs.

The justices also ruled that the knife and the drugs should be forfeited and destroyed.
