A pair of drug offenders have been jailed for a combined total of more than seven years after they were caught red-handed by police.

Steven Unsworth, 37, of Blackwater Drive, Aylesbury, and Richard Jackson, 37, of Oxford Road, Aylesbury, were both locked up at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday.

Unsworth was sentenced to five years and six months, while Jackson got two years and eight months behind bars.

On June 16 last year, the pair were seen by police walking along Walton Road in Aylesbury, towards the town centre.

As the officers pulled up alongside the pair, Unsworth ran off. As he ran, he dropped a pot that contained 19 wraps of crack cocaine and eight wraps of heroin - worth around £270.

Both men were charged on May 31 this year.

Unsworth pleaded guilty to a charge of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, while Jackson admitted to two counts of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

Investigating officer, PC Ben McNeill, of the Aylesbury Stronghold Team, said: “Drug dealing in our communities is not acceptable and we will take robust action against those who chose to distribute these substances.

“Unsworth and Jackson have will now serve time in prison for their actions and I hope this demonstrates that we will bring offenders to justice.

“If you have information of drug dealing in your area, please call 101 or make a report online.”
