Dozens of objections have been made to plans to build six four-bedroom houses in Burnham.

The plans would see size houses built on the land to the rear of 68 Dropmore Road, all with two floors, large rear gardens and two car parking bays per dwelling plus four visitor car parking bays.

The application has been re-submitted to Buckinghamshire Council with the plans de-scaled and altered.

The objections include worries about increased traffic in the area and loss of green space.

Jack Hamerton wrote: “As was stated on the previous application, this application is an excessive build that will create a large influx of new traffic and a reduction of peace that is what gives this village such a desirable character.

“We recognise that this will destroy neighbour's privacy and damage the little remaining green space we have in this area.

“This build is focused on personal gain as opposed to improving the neighbourhood, and therefore we strongly object to this build and hope this will be reflected in the final decision.”

Vicki Middlefell added: “Proposed development completely out of character with other properties in the area.

“Side elevation looks very industrial, rather than pleasant gardens and mature trees as it is at present.

“Addition of more cars turning onto Dropmore Road making the road even more dangerous.”

Rakesh Mehta wrote: “We strongly object to this application, due to the following reasons.

“Firstly, this will cause a loss of privacy and peace for our neighbours (by means of increased noise pollution).

“It will also result in a permanent loss of light for these properties.

“Furthermore, the suggested construction will produce a hazardous environment due to increased congestion; these roads have already had several accidents on accounts of speeding and blind spots.”

The Burnham Parish Council has also objected to the plans.

A spokesperson wrote: “The Committee resolved to object over the concerns of the proposed development is perceived to be inadequate for the site location.

“The Proposed terraced development that creates a 'block' of properties will be overbearing to the immediate neighbourhood.

“The application will create a large influx of new traffic, therefore reducing the peace and desired character of the village, damaging neighbouring property's privacy and limiting amenities space.

“It was also noted that the proposal onto Dropmore Road is suggested to create a hazardous 'blind' turn which is already subject to speeding traffic and highway safety limiting speed to 30mph.”

A design and access statement submitted with the application states: ”The scheme comprises of a terrace of six four-bedroom dwellings over two floors with additional accommodation in the roof space.

“Each dwelling benefits from a study to facilitate the contemporary trend of home working, open plan living spaces, large rear gardens and two car parking bays per dwelling plus four visitor car parking bays.

“Access is gained via a shared driveway led from Dropmore Road.”
