Domino's Pizza has submitted plans to open a new branch in Buckinghamshire.

DPSK Ltd has applied for planning permission to convert the Rennie Grove Hospice Centre at Concorde Square, in the Berryfields area of Aylesbury.

A planning statement submitted by the developer said: "The proposed takeaway will operate between 11am to 11pm on a daily basis and will generate a number of full-time and part-time employment opportunities for local people.

"Given the nature of the proposal, the store would be open to the public throughout the permitted operating hours and would generate a reasonable level of footfall and associated activity.

"This is in addition to contributing to both the day and night-time economies through its operation as well as additional employment opportunities for local people. On that basis, the proposed change of use will positively enhance the vitality, viability and overall attractiveness of the existing centre.

"Whilst we note that there is one other takeaway operator (known as Berryfield Fish Bar) within the designated centre this principally operates as a fish and chip shop.

"The proposal which this statement supports would therefore diversify the offering available to local customers and shall not lead to an overconcentration of any hot food takeaways, either individually or cumulatively."

A public consultation on the scheme is currently underway with Buckinghamshire Council set to make a decision on the application in the coming weeks.
