THE face of Marks & Spencer in High Wycombe will be transformed when it moves from its outdated store in the Chilterns centre to a new home at the front of Eden.

The current 38,000 square feet store in Church Street will close at the end of Wednesday, March 12 and the new 70,000 square feet Eden store - almost double the size - will open with 107 other retailers, restaurants, a cinema and bowling alley at 10am on March 13.

The additional space Marks & Spencer expanding its womenwear, lingerie and home products range.

Nick Pucci, store manager, said: "We've got very high hopes for this store. We're offering more collections than before and upgrading others with some moving to flagship status."

The lower floor is given over almost entirely to womenwear collections and the foodhall, while the upper floor is divided between women's accessories, lingerie, menswear, shoes, home and childrenswear plus a service area for ordering and collections, exchanges and refunds and the store's bureau de change and money services. Upstairs also houses a large 125-seater M&S Cafe, newly rebranded with a contemporary feel in brown, reds and natural materials, offering an expansive view of shoppers bustling along Denmark Street.

The store has three entrances, one from the main Eden Place square, one from the Oxford Road roundabout and a side door from near the bus station.

For those doing bigger shops, a drive-in and collect-by-car service will be created via an entrance and exit off Oxford Road.

Behind the scenes, the store offers impressive locker room, cafe and training facilities for the 326 staff, including rooms that offer panoramic views across the town centre.
