A fun-filled weekend of medieval jousting is back for the second time this year near Buckinghamshire.

Stonor Park’s Medieval Jousting weekend will return on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2.

Performed twice on both days, the brave Knights of Royal England will joust at full speed on their Andalusian steeds to overpower their opponents and try to unseat them from their horse in a “spectacular display of bravery and wit”.

Stonor Park’s Medieval Jousting weekend is back for the second time this year with an encore on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September.

William Stonor, custodian of Stonor Park, said: “My wife Ailsa and I are often asked about the inspiration behind the event – and as one of my ancestors, Lord Camoys, was Commander of the Left Flank at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415 it’s a great honour to celebrate this part of Stonor’s history. We sincerely hope that we’ve created the ultimate medieval day out that’s suitable for all the family.

“It’s become one of our most popular events and with access to Tumblestone Hollow, the magical adventure play area, included in the price, tickets are even better value-for-money with something for everyone across the weekend.”

Performed twice on both days, the brave Knights of Royal England will joust at full speed on their Andalusian steeds to overpower their opponents and try to unseat them from their horse in a spectacular display of bravery and wit.

With a full programme of entertainment across the weekend including the medieval ‘skirmish’ which includes 150 talented reenactors, as well as living history displays, costume competitions, family-friendly archery, axe-throwing sessions with experts and medieval weaponry displays, using weapons similar to those used in the 1415 Battle of Agincourt.

Sitting harmoniously in Stonor’s parkland, Tumblestone Hollow adventure playground has high level walkways, climbing nets, look-out decks, bridges and slides, all connected by a quirky, gnarled central tower.

After working up an appetite, there’s plenty of food and drink on offer, including Stonor’s gourmet burgers and wood-fired pizzas from The Rumble Hut, medieval mead for something more authentic, or soft serve Gelato ice cream.

Jeremy Richardson, head jouster at Knights of Royal England said: “We can’t wait to round off our summer schedule at one of our favourite venues, Stonor Park. The glorious parkland is a beautiful setting and has amazing ground for our jousters and their beautiful steeds to gallop across.

“For those who have never been before, we include the highlights of a traditional medieval jousting tournament and condense into an epic 45-minute display. Expect fearless knights who have an implicit trust and confidence in their agile horses, special stunts and plenty of cheering and crowd involvement.”

Prebooking is advised and tickets are available on the website from £13.50.
