The country will now enter a period of mourning, which will see many public events be postponed out of respect.
This could include football fixtures, as the EFL has since revealed that Burnley vs Norwich City and Tranmere Rovers take vs Stockport County on Friday, September 9 have been called off.
Consideration in respect of EFL fixtures will be discussed with the Government and the wider sport sector during the period ahead and an appropriate announcement will be made at the earliest opportunity.
