CHILDREN at a nursery are celebrating after their school received an excellent Ofsted report.
Windmill Under Fives, based at Lacey Green Village Hall, Main Road, Lacey Green, near Princes Risborough, was inspected on March 26 and 27, with the report of the inspection published this week.
Inspector Lynne Dawson, in the report, said the teaching was good, with children enthusiastic and confident, learning a variety of activities.
The report adds: "Children are progressing well in all areas of learning. They are enthusiastic and imaginative in all activities and behave very well."
Staff are also praised for having: "an easy rapport with the children and it is evident how well they know them individually".
Hilary Horne, of the Parents Committee, said she was delighted with the report.
She said: "I'm absolutely thrilled. When your children are there, they get the right level of attention and if they need more assistance they get that."
Mrs Horne added: "The motivation the children have is very high. To get a three to-five year-old to want to learn is very hard but they're very keen and look forward to the sessions."
The deputy supervisor of the group, Jo Howard, said it was encouraging to know that what they were doing was beneficial to the children.
She said: "We're very pleased that what we're doing has been recognised by the inspectors."
Windmill Under Fives was established in 1965, serving children from the local rural area. There are 19 children at present, who are encouraged to make their own books and write stories as well as playing, making music and other activities.
