Police were called to a lorry that crashed into a railway bridge in Princes Risborough.
The road was closed as engineers assessed the damage as Thames Valley Police (TVP) officers redirected traffic.
It has now reopened with the bridge being deemed safe following the incident.
A TVP social media post said: "Neighbourhood Officers from the Rural team were working with Network Rail today in Princes Risborough following an incident of a vehicle striking a railway bridge.
"An example of when to read your height restrictions.
"Engineers have assessed and the road has been re-opened.
"Thank you to all the road users for their patience in seeking alternative routes."
