THAME United have gone from goal-shy to goalscorers in the space of just week and manager Andy Sinnott is looking for more of the same on Saturday.

The Windmill Roaders scored 11 goals in two games this week, after finding the net just once in the previous four matches.

First Hertford were put to the sword 3-1 on Saturday and then Thame amassed eight goals on their way to thrashing Hemel Hempstead at home on Tuesday.

But Sinnott is not too surprised at the turnaround.

He said: "We worked really hard at our finishing in training and we've been creating lots of chances in games, although I didn't expect it to fall into place this quickly.

"I think confidence is a big part of it, though last night, we went a goal down and then got pegged back again before we won."

And Mark West had a huge part in that with his goal straight from the kick off after Hemel had made it 2-1.

Sinnott said: "That really demoralised them and we took full advantage."

Danny Grieves opened the scoring for the visitors before Andy Williams' header levelled it before half time.

Marcelle Bruce fired home on 57 minutes to put Hemel back in front.

But then came West's wonder goal which set up an amazing last half hour of the game.

First, Mark Jones stabbed home on 60 minutes to take the lead and then Dave Thornton put Thame further head on 63, finishing calmly from the edge of the box.

Jones got his second on 72 and Alex Stewart made it six in the 77th minute at the second attempt.

United scored again in the 84th minute after Kamran Abbasi found West with a superb pass and West did the rest. And there was still time for the eighth when Tony Joyce scored with a free-kick from 20 yards.

Thame play Northwood at home on Saturday and Sinnott wants more of the same.

He said: "We can't be anything but high after last night but we've got to keep our feet on the ground. Six points in a week is good but nine would be tremendous."
