A man who was caught carrying a knife in Chesham has avoided going to jail.

Frazer Bierrum, 21, of Manor Way, Chesham, has been ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work after he admitted to carrying a knife in Manor Way.

At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates' Court on September 9, the offender pleaded guilty to one count of knife possession.

The court heard how on August 19, Bierrum was in possession of a lock knife in Manor Way.

After hearing the evidence, the magistrates ordered Bierrum to carry out the unpaid work within one year.

The defendant was also ordered to pay £299 in costs.

The justices also ordered that the knife be forfeited and destroyed.
