A High Wycombe store has confirmed when it will move onto the High Street.

Tabletop Republic will leave the Chilterns Shopping Centre and move to 37 High Street in the town on October 1.

The tabletop gaming store will close on Thursday, September 29 and Friday, September 30 in order to complete the move.

A crowdfunding page has been set up to help raise money for the store's "biggest expansion" in its history.

The page reads: "Due to our imminent move and development of the store we will need your help!

"We have launched a crowdfund to raise money for the biggest expansion in our history, every penny will go towards resolving our move and bringing High Wycombe the best board games cafe and gaming centre that we can possibly produce!"

This move comes as the store's current location in the Chilterns Shopping Centre is set to be overhauled and turned into flats.

Tom Mepham, from Tabletop Republic, said: “We always knew this place would be temporary.

“We knew it wasn’t going to be permanent because we knew it was going to be turned into flats at some point.

“There’s always a need for new housing but it will be a shame to see the shopping centre go instead of doing something else with it.

“There are independent shops here so as long as they find places to put everyone I don’t see a harm in flats but obviously there are already loads of other flats being built around here.”
