Marlow Carnival will go ahead this weekend after being postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The carnival was due to take place on September 17 but the organisers took the decision to postpone the event as the nation went into mourning.

The organisers said it was "not appropriate" for the carnival to take place at that time.

However, it has now been confirmed the carnival will take place on Saturday, October 1 at Higginson Park.

On the day, there will be music and entertainment on three different stages, a funfair, a magic show, food and drinks, and over 50 stalls from local charities, community groups and traders.

A carnival social media post said: "We are happy to announce that the Marlow Carnival will happen very soon, Saturday , October 1 to be exact.

"We are working very hard to give everyone a fun day in Higginson Park. As we get all aspects of the carnival confirmed we'll share more details as we move forward."

Marlow FM will be broadcasting live from the carnival throughout the day with all the bands playing live on radio and the presenters providing interviews with acts between.

Local brewery, Rebellion will also be in attendance as well as catering service Chives who supply lunches and buffets to corporate clients in the surrounding areas.
