A NEW secondary school has officially opened its doors with professional boxers on hand to welcome pupils.

Kingsbrook Secondary School opened a couple of weeks ago but was officially opened by Councillor Anita Cranmer on Friday, September 30.

As part of the celebrations, the students were very lucky to have an audience with Adam and Hassan Azim, professional boxers who came to share their inspirational story about how their character and determination has got them where they are today.

The students were able ask questions and get autographs and photos with their heroes.

Headteacher Nancy Simpson gave credit to all those who have been instrumental in the success of opening the school, including Tom Weavers, project manager for Morgan Sindall, and the Buckinghamshire council school commissioning team.

Cllr Cranmer, Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services cut the ribbon with the school student council representatives to declare the school officially open!

Mrs Cranmer said: “The facilities are second to none and will provide such a fantastic learning environment for the current and future pupils. In addition, the building has excellent sustainable credentials and is designed to ensure it is thermally efficient thereby reducing the carbon emissions which will help the Council meet its Carbon reduction targets.

But this isn’t just a building for the pupils and staff of the Kingsbrook School, this wonderful building will be a huge asset to the wider Kingsbrook community who will also be able to benefit from the many facilities that the school has to offer”.
