A man got a rude awakening when he heard a car crash into his wall.
Great Missenden resident Richard Houghton says he was left shaken after a white Mercedes van smashed his driveway wall at 6.30am on Saturday, October 1, on Martinsend Lane.
The early morning crash at the end of his drive was loud enough to wake him up.
Before hitting the drive wall, the van had hit a parked car so badly on Martinsend Lane it was written off, Mr Houghton claimed.
He said: “It's not clear why the driver did not see the parked car as it did have its hazard lights on.”

The driver and passengers of the crashed car left the vehicle where it had crashed on the bend blocking the downhill lane of the road without hazard lights on, and only returned when contacted by the police, Mr Houghton claimed.
He said: “Luckily, a passing Bucks CC recycling van positioned itself behind the crashed van with its flashing lights on to ensure the abandoned van did not cause any more accidents before the police arrived."
Now Mr Houghton’s waiting on a quote for the cost of fixing the drive wall and to find out whether the driver had insurance, he said.
Thames Valley Police declined to comment on the crash.
