A car dealership has spoken out following closure rumours.
Perrys Ford High Wycombe has confirmed the closure of its dealership on London Road after unconfirmed social media reports claimed this was the case, causing concern among customers for future services.
The decision to axe the dealership was “difficult,” Perrys Ford High Wycombe regional director Nick Beevis said.
He said: “This has been agreed in consultation with Ford Motor company as part of their national approach throughout the UK to reduce their overall number of sites.”

After the dealership closes on November 1, the nearest Ford dealership will be Perrys Ford Aylesbury on Griffin Lane, where “all your aftersales needs will be taken care of there, with our manufacturer-trained technicians who can carry out a broad range of services, MOTs and repairs,” Mr Beevis told customers.
He added: “We have allocated additional courtesy drivers to enable us to offer more collect and drop-off services for our loyal customers in the High Wycombe area and we have launched a mobile servicing solution, so conditions permitting, we can carry out servicing at your home or place of work too.”
Ford was becoming a more “targeted business” with focus on commercial vehicle sales and an all-electric portfolio, a spokesperson for Ford Britain explained.
The company is set to reduce the number of vehicle selling points from 300 to under 200 dealerships.
The spokesperson said: “The Perrys High Wycombe site is being sold, with continued servicing by Perrys in Aylesbury and three new mobile service vans bringing techs and equipment to the customer.
“Nationally, there will continue to be a Ford sales site in easy travel distance for the majority of customers, with around 90 per cent of the population within a 30-minute drive of a dealership.”

Despite the imminent closure of the Wycombe dealership “the good news is many of the staff will relocate to Perrys Aylesbury,” Mr Beevis said.
“I would like to personally thank you for your previous business and support, we look forward to seeing you again soon.”
