A woman has been sentenced after driving to a man's house in Amersham to run him over after sending him harassing emails.

On March 25 this year, Madeleine Coops, aged 55, of the High Street in Great Missenden, travelled to Chiltern Road and drove at the man in his fifties multiple times before knocking him over.

The man was not injured but his vehicle was damaged after Coops also drove into the victim’s vehicle.

Coops was arrested the following day (March 26) and charged on September 23.

She pleaded guilty to assault by beating, criminal damage and harassment without violence following an

Coops was made subject to a community order for a period of one year and must carry out 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

A restraining order was also put in place, preventing Coops from contacting the victim.

Investigating officer, PC George Ward, based at Amersham police station, said: “Coops attended the address of the victim uninvited, struck them with her vehicle, and caused damage to their property.

“Additionally she sent a series of harassing emails to the victim despite them simply wanting to be left alone.

“During the course of the investigation Coops has shown no remorse or excuse for their actions and I am pleased that she has now been sentenced.”
