CAMERA crews have been spotted filming in Stokenchurch today for a new TV period drama.

Stokenchurch Community Centre has been transformed into a police station as part of a new series called The Burning Girls.

Residents received a letter earlier in the week warning them about filming taking place between 9am and 12pm today (November 11).

Cast members Samantha Morton (The Walking Dead, Harlots, Minority Report) will lead Paramount+’s adaptation of C.J. Tudor’s The Burning Girls alongside Bridgerton star Ruby Stokes.

Residents also spotted film crews on The Common today.

Jason Cashman quickly grabbed pictures of the commotion earlier today.

He said: "They have painted the blue detailing on around the gutters and windows at the entrance to the community centre and added a police station sign.

"They should have carried on and done the whole building. It needed a fresh lick of paint. I saw a guy painting it yesterday. One of the pics I just sent shows a police car."

The Burning Girls has been adapted by Swedish screenwriter and crime author Hans Rosenfeldt and is produced by Buccaneer Media.

The Burning Girls is C.J Tudor’s fourth thriller and tells the story of  Reverend Jack Brooks, a single parent with a fourteen-year-old daughter and a heavy conscience, who arrives in the creepy village of Chapel Croft hoping to make a fresh start.

Instead of finding peace in their new home, Jack and her daughter Flo find the village rife with conspiracies and secrets.  They soon find that uncovering the truth can be deadly in a village where everyone has something to protect, everyone has links with the village’s bloody past, and no one trusts an outsider.
