New food hygiene ratings have been handed to restaurants, takeaways, and cafes in Buckinghamshire.

Following recent council inspections restaurants across the county have been given a rating between one and five.

What do the numbers mean?

  • 0 – urgent improvement necessary
  • 1 – major improvements necessary
  • 2 – improvements necessary
  • 3 – business generally satisfactory
  • 4 – business good on assessment
  • 5 – business seen as very good

These are the latest food hygiene results for ten restaurants and cafes in the county, according to the Food Standards Agency.

Six restaurants, cafes or canteens have been given a five star rating.

These are: 

• Rated 5: Kolly Coffee at Spaces, 1 Chalfont Park, Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire; rated on November 21

• Rated 5: Flying Bean Cafe at Kiosk, Beaconsfield Railway Station, Penn Road, Beaconsfield; rated on November 18

• Rated 5: The Potting Shed Cafe at Heritage House, Cameron Road, Chesham, Buckinghamshire; rated on November 16

• Rated 5: Lunchbox at 53 High Street, Burnham, Buckinghamshire; rated on November 9

The following restaurants with a rating below 4:

• Rated 4: Sunrise Cafe at 85 High Street, Burnham, Buckinghamshire; rated on October 5

• Rated 2: Cafe Zeera at 12a Stewkley Road, Wing, Buckinghamshire; rated on October 26

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

• Rated 5: Merlins Cave at The Green, Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire; rated on November 16

• Rated 5: Wexham Park Golf Course at Wexham Street, Wexham, Buckinghamshire; rated on November 11

• Rated 4: The Churchill Arms at 1 High Street, Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire; rated on October 26
