CHRISTMAS is set for its brightest showing yet across the Buckinghamshire county this winter with light festivals set to illuminate the town.

From this month, High Wycombe, Marlow and Amersham will come alive with dazzling displays of light installations, trees, illuminations and projections.

High Wycombe

In Wycombe town centre from Saturday, December 3, visitors will be able to enjoy the new interactive Enchanted Wonderland, offering a magical and fun-filled 30 minute journey through a secret wintery wonderland hidden in an enchanted forest.

Children will also be able to meet Father Christmas in Santa’s grotto and receive a special gift from the 'North Pole'.

Guided by Mrs. Claus, children will embark on an interactive adventure to hunt down the missing Christmas tree fairy only to find their way into Father Christmas’ workshop.

Tickets for children between the ages of 4 and 10 years old cost £12, adults (and those 11 years and older), £3.

Marlow

Christmas in the Park is taking over Higginson Park from December 9 to 21 featuring a light trail, a Christmas market, a winter village as well as a special offering from Tom Kerridge.

An illuminating light trail featuring festive-themed installations will be the centrepiece of the event, featuring light tunnels, photo opportunities to capture memories and interactive surprises.

Visitors will enter via the ‘Mistletoe Market’ – a Christmas market - brimming with chalets filled with hand-crafted and unique Christmas gifts, tipples and treats from hot toddies and roasted chestnuts to cheese boards and marshmallow-topped hot chocolate.

Mid-way through the trail, visitors will encounter the ‘Winter Village’, where the sounds of choirs and musicians performing live carols and classic Christmas songs.

In the winter village, there will be firepits, pop-up bars and festive food from a hand-picked selection of gourmet street food trucks.

Amersham Christmas Festival 

An annual Christmas Festival and light switch-on will kick of seasonal celebrations in the Chilterns tonight.

This year’s Amersham Christmas Festival boasts activities and entertainment that will light up Sycamore Road High Street on December 3.

Visitors can enjoy indoor and street markets with more than 60 stalls, free Santa’s Grotto, live music and radio broadcast by Chiltern Voice, children’s funfair, food and drink, and a big raffle before Channel 4's Taskmaster creator Alex Horne will switch on the Christmas lights.

All proceeds from the much-loved community festival support Chiltern Foodbank and Chiltern Toy Bank.
