A HORRIFIC image has been shared by police of a lorry involved in a crash on the motorway this morning.
The warning has been sent out as a reminder for people to get out of their vehicles if they breakdown on the smart motorway.
The lorry was involved in a crash with the front windscreen completely smashed into.

It happened on the M1 motorway in Milton Keynes this morning.
The driver made it out safely and wasn't injured but police said 'it could have been a lot worse'.

They wrote: "This is a reminder if you break down on the smart motorway get out of your vehicle and get behind the barrier. Luckily no injuries this morning on the #m1 #miltonkeynes but could have been far worse."
The smart motorways is a stretch of road where technology is used to regulate traffic flow and - hopefully - ease congestion.
It has a permanent hard shoulder, but uses technology such as variable speed limits to adjust traffic flows.
