AN UNCONSCIOUS man was rescued from a burning house, firefighters have confirmed.

Crews from High Wycombe and Beaconsfield stations arrived on the scene on Hicks Farm Rise at around 1.08pm on Monday afternoon.

There they found a two storey house on fire with an unconscious man inside.

Using breathing apparatus they were able to make their way into the house and rescue an unconscious man from the building.

A member of the public, who lives on Hicks Farm Rise, witnessed one of the properties ‘blacked and burnt out’ from the fire.

A spokesman from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters rescued an male adult from a first floor bedroom unconscious but breathing. The male was left in the care of South Central Ambulance Service. 

"Firefighters also used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, positive pressure ventilation fan, incident emergency care kit. 

Thames Valley Police were also in attendance.
