ACCORDING to Gigaclear, more than one thousand homes and businesses across Great Missenden will receive full-fibre broadband by early summer.

Engineering work is due to start in February to connect 1,700 homes and businesses in Great Missenden to full fibre broadband.

It is part of a £38 million investment in Buckinghamshire by ultrafast broadband provider Gigaclear, which is expanding its full-fibre network to market towns and communities in the county.

Gigaclear Central Delivery Director Ben Woods said: “Whilst many other broadband providers compete to offer their services in dense, urban areas we’re focussing on communities in Buckinghamshire that are far less likely to have a choice of supplier.”

Where possible, Gigaclear said they will be utilising existing Openreach ducts and poles in order to minimise disruption during the build phase which is expected to be completed by June.

Mr Woods added: “Having access to reliable and fast broadband speeds is no longer a luxury but is necessary in order for many people to live their lives fully, whether it’s working from home, streaming or accessing other online entertainment.

“At Gigaclear we’re all about delivering digital happiness and what better way to do this than by delivering the peace of mind that comes with having access to full fibre broadband.”

Gigaclear’s full-fibre upgrade hopes to bring speeds of up to 900Mbps.

They say this would enable homeowners to download a film in its entirety in just four seconds.
