An update has been provided on former Wycombe Wanderers midfielder, Nnamdi Ofoborh.

Ofoborh, who is currently at the Scottish Premiership side, Rangers, has not played a single minute of competitive football since March 2021 after he was diagnosed with an undisclosed heart issue following his move north of the English border nearly two years ago.

Upon arriving at the Gers, then-manager Steven Gerrard revealed that there was a ‘red flag’ in the midfielder’s routine cardiovascular screening.

Since then, Gerrard, former Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and now current manager, Michael Beale, have provided updates on the ex-Bournemouth and Wanderers player, but his return to action is still unclear.

Speaking to the press last month, Beale, who was in charge of QPR at the start of the season, said: “Nnamdi’s situation is still with a specialist.

“You can imagine with that sort of situation, the people in the public and the people in the staff here [Rangers] are not experts.

“It’s an area that you need a specialist’s opinion, and importantly, you need to get more than one opinion.

“He has been able to do some physical activity, but the care and duty we have with Nnamdi is really big.

“We’re up to speed with it all but there is a lot of privacy surrounding this.”

It is not known if Ofoborh will play professional football again.
