RUMOURS have been circulating around the risk of 'closure' at a Bucks Waitrose prompting concern from staff, businesses, and locals.
Residents have been speculating around whether the supermarket brand is looking to close its store in Gerrards Cross after social media posts around lease renewals.
Online posts suggested that the lease on the site had not been renewed prompting many to fear the shop could be on its way out.
However, Waitrose bosses have spoken out to dispel the 'innacurate online speculation'.
A spokesman for the store said: "We are aware continued speculation is causing concern for our customers, Partners and local businesses so felt it was important to reiterate that we are not closing.
"Our current lease still has almost 10 years to run so we will carry on trading as normal.
"We have been serving the community here for more than 10 years - something we take real pride in - and we are looking forward to continuing to welcome our customers for many years to come."
Shoppers will be happy to hear that Waitrose previously confirmed the site is leased currently until 2032.
