A SHOCKING photo reveals the extent of the devastating damage caused by a fire that tore through a flat in Buckinghamshire.

Billowing smoke filled the air as six crews tackled the fire which started in a flat on Conniburrow Boulevard, Conniburrow, Milton Keynes on Thursday,  February 23.

Firefighters were called just before 10am that morning to smoke coming from the three-storey building.

The incident generated multiple calls to Thames Valley Fire Control Service.

A spokesman from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire was in a first-floor flat, with smoke logging affecting communal areas.

"The flat is around 10 per cent damaged by fire and 100 per cent damaged by smoke.

"South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police are also in attendance."

Firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and a positive-pressure ventilation fan to help clear the smoke.
