High Wycombe has a packed spring and summer schedule, including historic Mayor weighing ceremony and the annual Frogfest celebration.

Non-profit organisation High Wycombe BIDCo has revealed its schedule of town centre events for this half of 2023 to celebrate the beginning of spring.

At the end of April, shoppers will be able to attend the town’s Vegan Market, an event closely followed by a Coronation Tea Party in May, as the High Wycombe community celebrate King Charles’s coronation.

On May 20, residents can participate in the town’s unique tradition of Mayor Making, in which local dignitaries are ‘weighed’ outside the Town Hall to determine whether they have been ‘getting fat on the taxes’.

Family festival Frogfest will also be back on May 28 for a 10th anniversary celebration, with two live stages and 18 bands taking over the High Street, Church Street and Frogmoor.

Armed Forces Day, on June 24, and the Desborough Carnival, on July 8, round out HWBIDCo’s packed schedule of community events, both promising historic interest and fun for all the family.

Chief executive of the non-profit group, Melanie Williams said: “We’ve got so much planned in High Wycombe in the coming months – it’s an exciting time and there’s a real buzz about everything coming up.

"We can’t wait to share all these moments with families and residents and bring new visitors to the town centre.”
