A 'REMARKABLE mathematician' from Wycombe High School is celebrating being offered an apprenticeship from one of the world's largest banks.
A-level student Izzy Ambrose has won a Financial Services Degree Apprenticeship from JPMorgan Chase.
Izzy was told the exciting news via a phone call last Friday (March 24).
She said: “I’m really excited. When I found out, I couldn’t wait to tell my parents and my Further Maths teacher, Mrs Miller".
The student will be based at the bank’s division in Bournemouth for four years where she will study for a Degree in Applied Finance alongside her apprenticeship.
Izzy, who is currently studying for her A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics, added: “It’s a brilliant opportunity for me to kick-start my career.
“I’m really excited about starting next September – and not having to deal with any student debt is a real bonus!”
Izzy’s Further Maths teacher, Abha Miller said: “This is amazing news. I have known Izzy since Year 8 and she has always been a remarkable mathematician. This goes to show that if you put your mind to it, you can stand out and achieve your dreams.
"I know Izzy will go a long way and I hope she remembers her experiences at Wycombe High and comes back to talk to our younger students in the future”.
Headteacher, Nicola Renyard praised Izzy for her hard work and said: “Congratulations Izzy – what a brilliant achievement. We are so proud of you and so happy that all your hard work has paid."
