A popular restaurant in Princes Risborough closed its doors for the last time on Sunday prompting an outpouring of disappointment.

The Manor Coach House in the High Street announced it was closing down in a Facebook on Thursday, March 23.

A party was held last weekend for punters as a final thank-you for their support over the years.

They wrote on the Facebook post: "We close our doors on Sunday. It was a tough decision and heartbreaking."

Dozens of residents have responded to the announcement on Facebook expressing their sadness.

Many people shared their love for the cocktail bar and how they will miss the rooftop bar in the summer.

Sue Sidley said: "This is such a shame as I had some great nights out in the restaurant and cocktail bar."

Marnie Logan: "Such a shame to hear this, beautiful place, lovely staff and amazing cocktails."

Miranda Hollyer: "So sad really going to miss the rooftop bar in the summer."

Shelley Smith said: "Extremely sorry to hear, we enjoyed some good nights with yourselves, sadly hospitality is still struggling and it's heartbreaking to see so many lovely places closing down."

Burger business Burgervore said: "Thanks for the memories Manor team. We had a blast working with you."

The business collaborated with the restaurant and said they will be posting an update on their future "in the coming days".

One resident thinks Covid could be a reason for the business closing down.

Philip Simpkin said: "I did fear that the amount of money which has clearly been spent on the place would be difficult to recoup in a small but tall layout.

"I’m sure Covid didn’t help and being at the more expensive end of the market in a cost of living crisis has meant that the potential clientele is limited."

Maureen Davis showed her support for the owners and said: "Such sad news for all concerned and for such a gorgeous venue. There's no doubt it was a very difficult decision".
