THE POLICE in Buckinghamshire issued a warning to drivers for defying road signs.

Concerned residents in Chesham raised the alarm after motorists were seen breaching a ‘no entry’ sign by Moor Gym and Swim leisure centre.

Following numerous complaints of vehicles travelling through the sign, police officers from the Chesham Neighbourhood Team went to Waterside on Friday March 31 to stop offending drivers.

Thames Valley Police said on social media: “Following numerous stops of drivers, everyone claimed that they “thought they could go through” due to a previous diversion put in place by the water company.

“There is no diversion signs suggesting Moor Road is the route.

“Although unpopular and inconvenient to drivers, the safest and legal route will be via Chesham Bois and back towards Latimer Road, even if you live “Just the other side””.
