A Buckinghamshire town celebrated its new ‘life saving’ equipment after a defibrillator was installed.
Hope Church in Chesham received a new defibrillator at a launch event on March 29 thanks to community funding efforts.
Councillors Nick Southworth and Majid Ditta kick started the project for the much needed defibrillator, which was funded by Buckinghamshire Council and Every Beat Matters.
Mr Ditta said: “Hope Church situated in Pond Park and Hivings are pleased to announce the new arrival of a potentially life saving piece of equipment. This area is the furthest away from an ambulance station.”

Installation costs were covered by Hope Church and through community fundraising, he said.
The defibrillator is accessible to the public any time of the day through the car park on the junction of Upper Belmont Road and Great Hivings.
Having the defibrillator finally installed “is a massive achievement”, and the two councillors looked forward to “delivering anything else we can for are local residents in the coming future,” Mr Ditta added.
