The M40 outside Buckinghamshire has reopened after it shut following a fatal crash.

A woman was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles around 7.37am today (April 11).

The crash happened on the northbound lane between junction 11 (Banbury) and junction 12 (Gaydon) in Oxfordshire.

The woman died at the scene despite the efforts of two off-duty police officers performing CPR and the emergency services.

There was also a minor crash on the southbound lane between the J11 and J12.

Drivers heading that way along the motorway from Buckinghamshire were warned of queues reaching up to Bicester.

Now all lanes have reopened following the serious collision.
