The Everyman cinema chain has given the biggest hint yet that its Marlow opening is just around the corner.

Plans were submitted to Bucks Council for the development of an Everyman Cinemas in the old Market Hall building on Marlow high street back in February 2020.

Although progress has been slow in the application's approval and the site's construction, it looks like a luxury cinema complex will very shortly be on your doorstep if a new job listing from the chain is anything to go by.

As reported by MyMarlow, an Assistant General Manager position was listed at the Marlow Everyman on April 7.

The job description sets a deadline for applicants of May 8, ahead of an expected summer 2023 opening.

Depending on experience, the successful contender will receive up to £33k per year and enjoy the perks of free cinema tickets and a 50 per cent food and drink discount.

Everyman currently has 35 venues across the UK, all offering a licensed bar and plush seating to make the moviegoing experience that bit more special.

The listing reads: “Whether it be enjoying the company of friends in our stylish venues, indulging in a movie with a freshly baked pizza, a glass of wine and the comfort of a sofa, or attending one of our specially curated events or Q&As, we aim to make every experience one-of-a-kind through good old-fashioned hospitality, done our way.”

The cinema chain, which will be located in a prime spot at the top of Marlow high street, originally submitted development plans for two screening floors and a two-floor restaurant back in February 2020.

The application also included details of an illuminated hanging 'Everyman' sign and branding that is expected to alter the appearance of the front of the historic building.

However, planning documents also concluded that while the changes were unlikely to enhance the venue's historic fabric, they were also unlikely to substantially detract from it."

The Grade-II listed Marlow venue will be the second Everyman cinema in Buckinghamshire, with the first opening in Gerrards Cross back in 2015.

While an official opening date is still to be released, the company's annual report last year placed them in good stead for the planned expansion, showing a boost in moviegoers between 2021 and 2022 despite the industry-wide effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.
