Town leaders gathered to celebrate the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

Guests arrived from across Buckinghamshire for a celebratory interfaith Iftar dinner hosted by Chesham Mosque.

Chesham mayor Majid Ditta thanked the Chesham Mosque Committee Anjuman-Ul-Muslimeen for hosting the event with around 100 people taking part.

He said: “Councillor Pervaiz Aslam MBE alongside Imam Arif Hussain and Imam Husnain explained what the holy month of Ramadan meant to Muslims and what fasting is about and the breaking of the fast which is called Iftar.

Other guests included Chesham and Amersham MP Sarah Green, Deputy Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Akhtar Zaman, High Wycombe, Amersham and Princes Risborough mayors, Thames Valley Police Sergeant Roy Evans, Fire Station Commander Paul Henderson and Buckinghamshire and town councillors among others.
