A new restaurant has revealed more about its opening date and look in Bucks town centre.

The Journeyman restaurant announced it was going on a hiring spree ahead of the restaurant’s opening in Gerrards Cross at the former M&S building on Packhorse Road.

Its owner, the Berkhamsted- based Oakman Group, is known for running The Beech House in Beaconsfield and Amersham, and The Polecat in Prestwood.

The 1950s Art Deco building has gone through an extensive refurbishment since Oakman Group was given permission to convert the site in March last year.

The Gerrards Cross restaurant is due to open in mid-summer, serving a Mediterranean inspired menu to Bucks foodies, the company has said.

"The open theatre-style kitchen will be crafting a Mediterranean inspired menu which is filled with warming brunch dishes, authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, traditional home comforts, delicious Sunday roasts and a whole lot more.

"A fabulous drinks menu is there to be enjoyed, with classic cocktails, an extensive wine range as well as local ales and chilled draught lagers," the restaurant said.

Now the company is looking for staff to join various roles in the bar, kitchen and management.

The roles include trainee assistant managers, chefs at all levels and kitchen assistants, bar and restaurant staff.

Job candidates will receive their training and onboarding at one of the neighbouring sites before the opening.

The Journeyman is also hosting in-person recruitment days at Gerrards Cross Community Association on 8 East Common on May 11, 18 and 27 from 10am to 5pm.

Oakman Group recently won its application to sell alcohol until midnight on Fridays and Saturday and until 11pm on other days despite noise fears from residents.
