Tributes left for 'lovely' Beaconsfield man two years after he took his own life.

Stuart Knowles, 40, from Holtspur in Beaconsfield, died in an incident that took place between junctions 2 and 3 on the M40 southbound carriageway on May 11, 2021.

Witnesses and paramedics provided CPR and emergency care but he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest later concluded that he had taken his own life.

Stuart was described by his loved ones after his death as a "legend" and "genuinely lovely guy".

On the two year anniversary of the incident, May 11, 2023, fresh bunches of flowers were left on Broad Lane bridge near Wooburn Green in remembrance.

At the time of his passing, tributes poured in from Stuart's friends and family, with Christopher Moore writing: "Stuart, I have known you all my life and will remember you forever."

Heather Woodman, who shared a child with Stuart, wrote: "Thank you for giving me a beautiful son. We will miss you very much. I will always have him to remind me of you."

Meanwhile, Patrick Slade described his friend as a "living legend" and Kate Mann said: "You were always such a happy, smiley person. A genuinely lovely guy. We will miss you."

On a fundraising page created by Stuart's niece Laura, she shared that her uncle had struggled with his mental health prior to his death.

"We all tried our best to support him. Thank you everyone for your kind words and generous donations. Words are not enough to explain how much this has meant to the family."

A GoFundMe page created shortly after the incident in May 2021 exceeded its target by raising £2,920 towards Stuart's funeral.

Steven Evans commented on the page: "It was always such a pleasure to see him and to work together in the garden. A gentle giant who will be missed."

Agnieszka Szenfeld added: "He was a friend and a good man. I hope he rests in peace in a better place, free from any pain or suffering."
