A WORRIED mum fears for the safety of her children after a homeless man started to live in the grassy area next to her home.

The Wooburn Green resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported the incident to Thames Valley Police on Monday, May 15, after spotting "human excrement and needles" in the grass.

She claims the person living on the green in Boundary Road is homeless as he first arrived back in March with "bed bases and turned out chest of drawers."

He was then sleeping in an orange tent and pitched up on the green and then down the side road opposite but "another annoyed resident tore it up."

A few weeks later he started to build a hut in the middle of the park (as pictured above). He has been on the site for two months, according to the woman.

The mum-of-two said: "I don't want him outside my house. He knocks on people's doors asking for phone chargers. He's been here for two months and it's an absolute joke as police said they have done 'everything we can'. The parish council said it's not their grounds, it's the councils.

"It's affecting everyone on the green. He built a hut out of bed bases and wooden fences that he took out of the skip further up Boundary Road.

"When he got arrested the other day the children said 'yay, thank god' but now he's back again."

She has reported the issue to Buckinghamshire Council and Thames Valley Police as she doesn't feel safe.

"I want the council to do something. If he's got mental health issues, they need to do something. I've got two kids and there's a group of them that play at the end - it's not very safe for them, especially as he's a known drug user."

Carl Jackson, Deputy Cabinet Member for Housing & Regulatory Services, said: “Buckinghamshire Council is aware of the situation and we are providing help to the person involved.

"We are working with our partners and other professionals to clean up the area and make sure residents feel safe using the park again.”
