AROUND 40 tonnes of rubbish was on fire in Seer Green last night.
Firefighters from Beaconsfield Fire Station attended the scene off Chalfont Road at about 10.20pm.
They said it was believed disused building material had caught fire in the field, located just in front of some woodland.
The quantity was estimated as being approximately 40 tonnes.
They added the incident was being looked at as a possible case of arson, and that the material may have been fly-tipped.
Fire crews were at the scene for around four-and-a-half hours. A water tanker from Princes Risborough also attended the blaze.
