BEST-selling children's author David Walliams is set to reopen a bookshop in Gerrards Cross.

Former Britain's Got Talent TV judge and Little Britain Star will be making a guest appearance at Gerrards Cross Bookshop in Packhorse Road as part of their re-opening celebrations.

There are 250 tickets up for grabs for the event, which is held on Saturday, June 17.

David Walliams will be signing copies of his book Robodog, a story about a police dog superhero who tries to save the city of Bedlam from evil villains.

The new bookshop has undergone a major transformation and is reopening as part of Independent Bookshop Week (IBW), which celebrates independent bookshops across the UK to highlight the vital role independent bookshops play in their communities.

Other events will be taking place at Gerrards Cross Bookshop later in the month, including a special visit from The Tiger Who Came for Tea.

Families can meet the tiger character from Judith Kerr's much-loved classic picture book where a member of the bookshop team will be in a full-sized Tiger character costume.

The Gerrards Cross Bookshop has been highly valued by the residents of Gerrards Cross and South Bucks for more than 30 years.

It has been part of the same company, Chiltern Bookshops Limited, co-owned by Sheryl Shurville and Martin McKean.

Tickets for the event cost £14.99 which include a signed copy of Robodog (RRP £14.99).

Parents accompanying their children do not require a ticket (one accompanying adult per child with ticket.)

Please note that only copies of Robodog included with the ticket will be signed.

The event takes place from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, June 17.
