After exciting news that progress had been made with High Wycombe’s highly anticipated new driving test centre last week, the DVSA has now confirmed when learner drivers will be able to book a practical test.

The Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has announced that testing at the new High Wycombe driving test centre in Kingsmead Business Park is due to begin on Monday, June 26.

The town’s former test centre on Wellington Road closed in 2020 after the DVSA concluded that it was “not a good use of public money”.

However, after a campaign was launched in protest of the centre’s removal, led by Wycombe MP Steve Baker, the DVSA reconsidered its decision and authourised the opening of a new centre in the town this year.

Speaking last week, Steve Baker said he was “delighted” to hear that progress was being made with the driving test facilities, describing it as “excellent news for learners in Bucks”.

A spokesperson for the DVSA said: “We are very pleased to announce the opening of the new driving test centre in High Wycombe. We look forward to welcoming customers and instructors very soon.”

Tests at the High Wycombe centre are available to book now at at GOV.UK.
