Residents and businesses in Bucks have a chance to speak with the HS2 team during face-to-face events.

The HS2 and its contractor Align are holding a drop-in session in Amersham on Thursday July 13 at the British Legion Hall on Whielden Street between 3pm and 7pm.

The events are part of HS2’s engagement with communities affected by the high-speed railway’s construction.

HS2 said the events are designed for residents and businesses to “pop in and talk to the engagement team about the project, any local impacts from our works or how we can support local groups through community investment.”

Another drop-in session will be held on August 14 between 3pm and 7pm at the Chalfont St Giles Memorial Hall on School Lane.

The Amersham drop-in session comes almost two months after a giant sinkhole appeared next to Shardeloes Lake in Old Amersham, prompting a pollution investigation by the Environment Agency.

The HS2 Amersham vent shaft construction site is located around half a mile from the sinkhole site.
