A 30-year-old man from a Buckinghamshire village has walked nearly 900 miles in honour of his late grandfather.
Ian Wainwright, who hails from Cheddington, trekked from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Caithness, Scotland, where he raised £4,960 for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.
His decision to take on the epic walk comes after the charity’s nurses visited and cared for his grandfather in his own home before he died last December.

He started his walk on May 1 and arrived at Britain’s most northerly tip on July 26 – a journey that lasted 77 days.
In all, he travelled 1,260 miles and produced 3.5 million steps along the way.
He said: “I started walking during lockdown and was keen to take on a big challenge in memory of my grandad.
“Walking took a backseat when he was ill but after he died, it seemed right to take on a charity challenge in his memory.
