Three eateries across Buckinghamshire have been awarded a one-star hygiene rating following their recent respective inspections.

The first of these establishments is Ruchi in Iver.

The assessment, which took place at the end of June, revealed that the Indian restaurant’s ‘hygienic handling of food, which can include preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage, is found to be in need of some improvement.’

And even though the cleanliness and condition of the facilities which included having an appropriate layout, ventilation, handwashing stations and pest control ‘were generally satisfactory’, the inspector suggested that ‘major improvement is necessary’.

The report said: “The food safety officer’s confidence in the establishment, which can include the checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat and that staff are knowledgeable about food safety is in need of major improvement.”

Another restaurant that has been handed a one-star rating is Rayu Pan Asian @ the Feathers in Chalfont St Giles.

An inspection at the end of June suggested that the business’ preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage, along with its cleanliness, is in need of some improvement.

Finally, the most recent inspection that led to a one-star rating for a Buckinghamshire café/restaurant is the Madeira Coffee Bar in Chalfont St Peter.

They concluded that ‘major improvement is necessary.’
