A 'home from home' lounge catering for a wide range of tastes and functions is just weeks away from opening in a Bucks town.

The Verdetto Lounge will open its doors to customers on Wednesday, September 13 at 12-13 Market Hill in Buckingham - marking the Lounger PLC group's 200th 'lounge' venue in the UK.

According to its founding company, Verdetto Lounge has been designed to be a "relaxed, welcoming space" that offers a hybrid cafe/bar experience, mixing coffee shop ambience with British pub culture.

Taking its name from the Italian word for 'verdict', the lounge will reportedly cater for a wide range of tastes and preferences with a varied all-day menu including vegan and gluten-free fare.

The menu is available to view online and features a full English breakfast, priced at £14.25, fish finger sandwiches at £9.75 a pop, a wide range of tapas options, with three plates for £12.50 and a selection of burgers, cakes and cocktails.

The Buckingham team is hopeful that the venue will take on the same community function as other popular UK spots - including the Merletto Lounge in High Wycombe - and be used for friendly catch-ups, networking events and as a book club or knitting group space.

Gemma Irwin, Community Manager at Loungers, said: “We’re so looking forward to opening the doors of Verdetto Lounge in September. We hope our family-friendly environment and top-notch food and drink will prove popular with local residents.

“We’re passionate about integrating genuinely into the communities we serve, so we’re looking forward to meeting everyone and playing our part at the heart of Buckingham’s food and drink scene.

“Anyone looking for a space to host events or groups should pop in once we’ve opened – we’d love to hear from them and see what we can do to help.”

The Verdetto Lounge is currently hiring front and back-of-house staff to help ensure the new spot is a venue where "every customer leaves happy".
