Numerous emergency services have descended to a doctors surgery in Aylesbury following an 'explosion.'

The authorities were first notified of the incident in the afternoon of August 25.

The Jackson Road building is currently being seen by many firefighters, with police and medics also being present.

A nearby resident said: "The building looks like it is from a movie.

"This wasn't a small fire, this was a proper fire and it looked scary."

The road is expected to be closed off for the remainder of the night while the blaze is put out.

It has also been confirmed that the building has been 'empty for several months.'

A nearby resident near the scene with her two teenage daughters said: "It's been going on for a long time now and I hope everyone is OK.

"It's still very smokey so it must be a big fire.

"Hopefully everyone is safe."

Another added: "Since the surgery moved to Berryfields (an area in Aylesbury), this place has been empty and it's been like that for several months.

"Goodness knows what started this."

The cordon is expected to last until 9pm.
