A bus operator has announced new routes with more frequent service in Buckinghamshire.

Arriva said the more frequent service will kick off in High Wycombe from September 3 ahead of the new school year.

Some routes will see up to double the current number of journeys.

Arriva’s network manager Matt King said: “We’re introducing a substantially improved bus network for High Wycombe, as part of our ongoing commitment to be the most environmentally sustainable transport option of choice for everyone in our town.

“We’ve analysed how and when customers use our buses in and around the town currently as well as looking at emerging and changing travel trends – so we're bringing more buses, more often for most routes.

“That's fantastic news for everyone who has been wanting to get back on board and save money.

“And for people who are eligible for concessionary bus passes – it’s a great time to make sure you have one and benefit from our new, improved network because you’ll be able to explore the Chilterns, free of charge for most of the day.

“There are scenic connections beyond High Wycombe too, with picturesque Henley-on-Thames or retail therapy in Reading – and you can get to both on our 800/850 routes.”
