A new outdoor cinema event has been labelled a ‘success’ after it sold out.
Amersham’s first-ever outdoor cinema event was held at the Amersham Cricket Club on Friday September 1.
The family affair attracted more than 500 people on the grounds by the picturesque Shardeloes Lake to watch two hit films on the screen as part of the Amersham and Villages Community Board initiative.
Audiences enjoyed watching the Disney animation Encanto and The Greatest Showman while local traders sold food and drink and Cue34 Theatre Company provided entertainment.

Chair of Amersham and Villages Community Board Mark Dormer said: “It was fantastic to see so many local residents having such a wonderful time and a great way to close the summer holidays.”
“Events such as this are exactly what the Community Boards are all about; bringing people together and building strong community ties.”
The event was possible thanks to support from various groups, including Rotary Club and Old Amersham Revitalisation Group among others.
