To enjoy another hot weekend in Buckinghamshire, here are three pubs/restaurants you can try out that are near rivers and lakes.

This comes as an amber heat warning has been issued with certain areas of the South East potentially reaching temperatures of more than 30C.

The Compleat Angler, Marlow

One of the most frequently visited establishments in the south of the county, Compleat Angler has been regarded as one of the best eateries in Marlow.

Yes, a large part of the reasoning behind this opinion is due to the Atul Kochhar Michelin star restaurant, Sindhu, which is based in the vicinity.

However, it’s also down to the location as it's based right next to Marlow Bridge.

Those visiting can enjoy the boats going up and down the Thames whilst having a bite to eat and a cold drink.

Spade Oak Hotel, Bourne End

Another one of Buckinghamshire’s most frequently visited establishments, the Bourne End-based hotel enjoyed a refurbishment in 2021 and are now booming with customers.

On Google, they boast over 1,000 reviews whilst on TripAdvisor, they have just short of 800.

The venue is also a short walk away from the Buckinghamshire stretch of the River Thames.

The General Havelock, High Wycombe

A hidden gem in one of the largest towns in Buckinghamshire, the General Havelock is near both the River Rye and the Backstream, and is frequently visited by locals and those passing through.

They also boast an average score of 4.6/5 on Google Reviews.
