A decision over whether to approve or reject Marlow Film Studios has been pushed back again.

As previously reported, the ambitious project was due to submit a planning application to Buckinghamshire Council this month.

But National Highways has now said that further investigation is needed to consider the impact on transportation.

Government-owned company National Highways has recommended that the Local Planning Authority not reject or grant permission to the Marlow Film Studios project until November 8, 2023.

The recommendation is an extension of the time period previously set by the company in July, asking Buckinghamshire Council to refrain from making a decision about the proposal until today, September 14.

The amended recommendation will provide the company with an additional 56 days to examine transport documents submitted by the film studio developers, particularly in reference to the A404 road, which makes up part of the Strategic Road Network (SRN) infrastructure and is under National Highways stewardship.

A formal consultation including a final Supplementary Travel Assessment which will remain under assessment until October was submitted to the Marlow Film Studios planning portal on September 11.

The new documents laid out in full the site's sustainable travel provisions, including a 60 per cent cap for car journeys to the studio, the launch of two fully funded local bus routes and the installation of a signalised pedestrian and cyclist crossing at Westhorpe Junction.
