BUDDING anglers are being encouraged to get hooked on fishing.
A free event giving people the chance to try the sport and receive tuition from a qualified angling coach is due to take place this summer in High Wycombe.
The session, organised by the Environment Agency, will take place on August 7 at the Rye Dyke.
Fisheries officer Lizzie Rhymes said: "Often people want to have a go at fishing, but just don't know where to start.
"We hope that after people have learnt the basics they will become keen and responsible anglers.
"The Environment Agency has also been supporting ongoing angling projects all over the area to get people of all ages hooked on fishing."
The event will take place between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
